Warner Bros. avvisar bud från Paramount

Styrelsen för mediabolaget Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) meddelade idag att man avvisar det bud som deras konkurrent Paramount Skydance (PSKY) lade på företaget förra veckan.Styrelsen för WBD skriver vidare att man fortsatt stödjer att Netflix köper upp företaget och rekommenderar WBD:s aktieägare att säga nej till det fientliga budet från PSKY. WBD:s styrelseordförande Samuel A. Di Piazza, Jr. skriver:"Following a careful evaluation of Paramount's recently launched tender offer, the Board concluded that the offer's value is inadequate, with significant risks and costs imposed on our shareholders. This offer once again fails to address key concerns that we have consistently communicated to Paramount throughout our extensive engagement and review of their six previous proposals. We are confident that our merger with Netflix represents superior, more certain value for our shareholders and we look forward to delivering on the compelling benefits of our combination."

Jared Kushner hoppar av affären

Samtidigt rapporterar nyhetsbyrån Bloomberg att riskkapitalföretaget Affinity Partners, som grundats av Donald Trumps svärson Jared Kushner och tillsammans med tre arabländer skulle finansierat Paramount Skydances uppköp av Warner Bros. Discovery, nu hoppar av uppköpsplanerna. Varför Affinity Partners hoppar av den eventuella affären uppger man inte utan säger bara i ett uttalande:"With two strong competitors vying to secure the future of this unique American asset, Affinity has decided no longer to pursue the opportunity. We continue to believe there is a strong strategic rationale for Paramount’s offer."
