Microsoft är inte nöjda med Apple

Tidigare i veckan rapporterade vi att Microsofts spelstreamingtjänst Project xCloud inte kommer kunna köras på iOS på grund av Apples appregler. Det var inte första gången som dessa appregler sätter käppar i hjulet för speltjänster då både Googles spelstreamingtjänst Stadia och Valves Steam Link-app stötte på problem när de skulle lanseras.Nu har Microsoft uttalat sig offentligt kring detta och man kan väl sammanfatta det med att de inte är helt nöjda med Apples beslut att inte tillåta xCloud på App Store. De anser att Apple står ensamma med att förneka kunder spelstreaming och speltjänster så som Xbox Game Pass. De anser också att Apple behandlar spel olikt från andra mediaappar så som Netflix.Här är vad Microsoft hade att säga till The Verge angående hela den här situationen:
Our testing period for the Project xCloud preview app for iOS has expired. Unfortunately, we o not have a path to bring our vision of cloud gaming with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate to gamers on iOS via the Apple App Store. Apple stands alone as the only general purpose platform to deny consumers from cloud gaming and game subscription services like Xbox Game Pass. And it consistently treats gaming apps differently, applying more lenient rules to non-gaming apps even when they include interactive content. All games available in the Xbox Game Pass catalog are rated for content by independent industry ratings bodies such as the ESRB and regional equivalents. We are committed to finding a path to bring cloud gaming with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate to the iOS platform. We believe that the customer should be at the heart of the gaming experience and gamers tell us they want to play, connect and share anywhere, no matter where they are. We agree.Microsoft kommer dock fortsätta kämpa och försöka samarbeta med för att få ut xCloud och Xbox Game Pass på iOS-enheter men det är något som kan ta tid. Valve kämpade till exempel i ett drygt år innan de fick släppa sin Steam Link-app på plattformen.
