IFA 2019 Samsung presenterar Exynos 980
Mobilprocessor och 5G-modem på samma chip
Foto: SamsungIdag presenterade Samsung mobilchippet Exynos 980 vilket blir företagets första chip där man tryckt in en processor och 5G-modem på samma enhet, något som kommer att spara både utrymme och energi åt framtidens mobiltelefoner.På chippet hittas två stycken Cortex-A77 CPU-kärnor och sex stycken Cortex-A55-kärnor samt GPU:n Mali-G76, en GPU som är anpassad för gaming och mixed reality-upplevelser. Vidare finns det stöd för Wifi-6 och stöd för överföringshastigheter på upp till 2,55 Gbps via 5G. Ben Hur som är chef för Samsungs Electronics LSI Systems säger i ett pressmeddelande:
"With the introduction of our 5G modem last year, Samsung has been driving in the 5G revolution and paved the way towards the next step in mobility. With the 5G-integrated Exynos 980, Samsung is pushing to make 5G more accessible to a wider range of users and continues to lead innovation in the mobile 5G market."
Samsung skriver i ett pressmeddelande att man förväntar sig att börja massproducera Exynos 980 i slutet av året men vilka mobiler som först kommer att få Samungs nya 5G-processor-chip har Samsung än så länge inte uppgett.
