Roboten Atlas visar sig på styva linan
Kan planera sin rutt i besvärlig terräng

Företaget IHMC Robotics fortsätter att göra Boston Dynamics humanoida robot Atlas bättre och nu har man släppt en ny video på detta.I den senaste Atlas-videon från IHMC så demonstrerar man hur roboten kan läsa av terrängen framför sig med hjälp av sitt inbyggda LIDAR-system för att sedan navigera sig fram över hinder som kommer i dess väg. Företaget uppger att Atlas i dagsläget lyckats ta sig fram på hinderbanor man byggt upp i ungefär 50 procent av testerna. Detta är dock något man tänker förbättra och skriver:
"We plan to increase the rate of success by adding balance using angular momentum and by better considering joint ranges of motion. Narrow terrain is difficult due to the need to do some "cross-over" steps, which are tricky due to limited range of motion in the hip joint, and also due to having a small polygon of support when one foot is directly in front of the other."
