Foto: SpaceXSpaceX har genomfört ett viktig test där man har simulerat en testflygning med den bemannade modellen av sin Dragon-kapsel.Man genomförde simuleringen av "Crew Dragon" på sin testanläggning Hawthorne, Kalifornien och uppger att både mjuk- och hårdvara ska ha fungerat som den ska och kunnat kommunicerat med varandra utan problem. Hans Koenigsmann från SpaceX säger:
"It may not sound exciting, but it’s a really, really important tool. We can basically fly the Crew Dragon on the ground — flip the switches, touch the screens, test the algorithms and the batteries – all before testing the avionics system in flight. It’s important to get the avionics right before putting it into the capsule."
SpaceX och NASA:s plan är att kunna använda Crew Dragon för att skicka astronauter till den internationella rymdstationen ISS inom två till tre år om allt går som det ska.
