USA vill landa människor på månen igen
Ska helst ske inom fem år
Under USA:s femte National Space Council uppgav landets vice president Mike Pence igår att USA bör landa astronauter på månen igen senast 2024.USA och NASA har sedan tidigare planer att landa astronauter på månen 2028 men detta tycker inte USA:s regering är tillräckligt snabbt nog. Pence förklarade varför det var så brådskande med att landa människor på månen igen under sitt tal:
"Urgency must be our watchword. The United States must remain first in space in this century as in the last, not just to propel our economy and secure our nation but, above all, because the rules and values of space, like every great frontier, will be written by those who have the courage to get there first and the commitment to stay."
När USA väl landar på månen nästa gång så har man framtida planer på att etablera en bas där vilken antagligen kommer att byggas i närheten av månens sydpol.
